Maxwell's at the Club has a Fabulous Father's Day Brunch Planned

Maxwell's at the Club, located in the East Bank Club at 500 N. Kingsbury St. (telephone: 312-527-5800, ext. 301), is hosting their final brunch of the season, Father's Day Brunch, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sunday, June 21. The price is $45 for adults and $15 for children age 10 and under. 

The buffet, which is open to the public, boasts a wide-range of options, including prime rib, roasted rack of lamb and roast turkey carving stations, an omelet bar, a waffle bar and assorted pastries, as well as a variety of appetizers, salads and entrées. Father's Day Brunch is an admirable way to honor the wonderful fathers in your life. Because this will be the final Maxwell's brunch of the season, demand will be high and reservations are needed.

Maxwell’s Featuring Tapas, Spanish Wine Specials at Dinner through May 31

2015 Easter and Passover Dining in Chicago and its Suburbs

 Luella's Southern Kitchen Ups the Ante for Easter Brunch
with Delicious Southern Dishes

CHICAGO (March 2015) - Ever since his February opening of Luella's Southern Luellas-Interior-v2-lr-gifKitchen in Chicago's Lincoln Square (4609 N. Lincoln Ave., Chicago; 773-961-8196), Chef/Owner Darnell Reed has wowed Chicagoans with his impeccable renditions of great Southern regional dishes. He also will bring his masterful touch to Easter Brunch on Sunday, April 5 with two wonderful specials in addition to the regular brunch menu. His special Easter entrée will be Crawfish Étouffée with Carolina Gold Rice ($14) and he will also add a scrumptious dessert special, the Dessert Sampler ($6), featuring a Beignet, Blackberry Hand Pie, Milk Chocolate Bread Pudding and Caramel Ice Cream.

About Chef Reed
Reed is a graduate of Washburne Culinary Institute in Chicago. He began his professional career in 1997 at the Palmer House Hilton where he served as Restaurant Chef at the French Quarter and the Big Downtown. In
2005, he was promoted to Executive Sous Darnell Reed lr500 by Cindy KurmanChef at the Embassy Suites Chicago Lakefront where he handled banquet functions for up to 700 people. In April 2007, Reed was promoted to the dual Executive Chef position at the Hilton of Oakbrook and Hilton Garden Inn of Oakbrook. In May of 2010, he accepted the Executive Sous Chef position at the Conrad Chicago Hotel and was promoted to Executive Chef in 2011.

Maxwell's at the Club (500 N. Kingsbury St., 312-527-5800, Ext. 301), is offering a special Passover Dinner, 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Friday, April 3. Maxwell's executive sous chef Richard Hall, along with East Bank Club's executive chef Mike Lodes, have teamed up to prepare a lavish buffet complete with appetizers, entrées and desserts. Passover favorites will include Matzo Ball Soup, Gefilte Fish with beet horseradish, Braised Brisket of Beef and Roast Lamb. "Many of our Passover dishes are prepared from family recipes," says Mike Romano, Director of Food and Beverage. "Passover dinner has been an East Bank Club tradition for years. We are thrilled to invite all of Chicago to enjoy this tradition with us." Reservations are recommended.

However, he's getting an early Valentine's gift, the birth of his and fiancé Jocelyn Naoe's baby daughter Jazani Luella Naoe Reed due for early delivery on Wednesday.
 Luella's Southern Kitchen is a warm and heartfelt neighborhood BYOB restaurant to enjoy a delicious, satisfying meal with your loved one on Valentine's Day. Nothing fills the heart better than a great Southern meal and Chef Reed helps you celebrate with his exciting

Valentine's menu, served on Saturday, February 14. The price is $90 per couple. Luella's excellent regular menu, filled with flavorful regional Southern favorites, also will be available on the 14th.
Luella's special Valentine's menu begins with a bowl of hearty Seafood Gumbo, topped with Fried Oysters. The meal continues with a fresh Spinach and Clementine Salad with Spiced Candied Pecans, Goat Cheese and Honey/Ancho Chili Vinaigrette.  
Guests will have a choice of entrée, either the Blue Corn Dusted Crab Cake with Crawfish Remoulade Roasted Potatoes and Glazed Brussels Sprouts or the hearty Braised Short Ribs with Carolina Gold Rice Grits and Roasted Carrots. The sweet finale is a luscious Chocolate and Pineapple Upside-down Cake with Brown Sugar Ice Cream.

It’s not too late to make your Chicago Restaurant Week reservations

Chicago's 8th Annual Restaurant Week, produced by Choose Chicago, began on Friday. It isn’t too late to get a great reservation at eatitupchicago.com.

New to the Chicago Restaurant Week lineup this year are Acanto, Bottlefork, Fig & Olive, Gibson's Bar and Steakhouse, LuxBar, Mariano's, Moto, Parrot Cage Restaurant, Porkchop (Hyde Park), RM Champagne Salon, The Duck Inn, to highlight a few. This year marks the first time foodies can experience CRW at O'Hare InternAirport. If you're traveling, be sure to stop by Wicker Park Sushi (Terminal 2), Stefani's Tuscany Café (Terminal 1) or Goose Island Brewery (Terminal 3). Five Mariano's locations, including Bucktown, Lakeshore East, Ravenswood, South Loop and West Loop will offer a variety of ‘Lunch for 2' options at these participating locations.

The 14-day promotion continues through Thursday, February 12 and is packed with delicious prix fixe menus starting at $22 for lunch and $33 and/or $44 for dinner (excluding beverages, tax and gratuity). Live Entertainment Every Tuesday through Friday at Maxwell's at the Club

Join Maxwell's at the Club (500 N. Kingsbury St., Chicago, IL; located inside East Bank Club; 312-527-5800) after work and into the evening for a great mix of live entertainment in the bar/lounge. To make your evening even more satisfying, you can order from Maxwell's special bar food menu, filled with freshly prepared appetizers, small plates and flatbreads. Midnight Sun band w border.jpgEnjoy the smooth, groovin' sounds of Chicago's own Midnight Sun as they deliver Motown and R&B favorites from artists such as Michael Jackson, Earth Wind & Fire, Phil Collins, Aretha Franklin, and a of host other soulful artists. Focusing on classic rhythm and blues, more contemporary "quiet storm" vocal tunes, plus pop hits and standards, they soothe your soul like few artists can do. Midnight Sun has a polished and poignant sound that makes for a refreshing, toe-tapping evening.
 
Wednesday: Guitar trio featuring David ChiribogaDavid Chiriboga 330 pixels w border
A formally trained and technically accomplished Flamenco guitarist, David Chiriboga has a fluid and expressive style that captures the spirit and soulfulness of musical styles from Spain and Latin America. He blends the traditional Flamenco music of Spain with the punchy rhythms of South America to create a captivating musical landscape. With the trio's heartfelt strumming, you're sure to have a memorable evening of entertainment at Maxwell's.

Master of the eighty-eights, Robert Solone is one of Chicago's most in-demand pianists and piano bar performers who regularly appears as a soloist and accompanist. He also is an accomplished vocalist, skillfully performing a set of richly textured selection of show tunes, pop song, original compositions, classical works, jazz and blues. Don't miss an evening of piano jazz with Bob as you will e enjoying one of Chicago's finest, weaving a colorful tapestry of familiar tunes performed with a master's interpretative touch.
 
Friday: Ken Haebich, Redd Holt and Friends

Ken Haebich, Redd Hold and Friends fill the bill perfectly with thfunky arrangements of jazz, blues and pop classics. The trio features Ken Haebich on bass, Redd Holt on drums and other special guests. Redd was an original member of the Ramsey Lewis Trio and a principal member of the Young-Holt Trio. Ken is a bassist's bassist, a multi-faceted bassist, composer and music educator.
Versatility is the signature of this group. They can move easily from old school jazz to contemporary modal compositions and familiar pop standards. Another way of saying this is that they can play as cool as a calm winter's night or as hot as State Street on an August night. Maxwell's at the Club is proud to be the Friday evening home of these outstanding musicians.

Chicago's Best Sunday Brunch returns to Maxwell's October 5

Chicago's best brunch returns 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, October 5 at Maxwell's at the Club (located in

"A lot of people don't know that we're a public restaurant. Brunch is the perfect opportunity to showcase our food and beautiful room," says Mike Romano, Food & Beverage Director. "Our members have known for a long time that our brunch is a great value as well as delicious."
At only $24 for adults; $12 for children ages 7-10; $6 for children 4-6, and children 3 and under are complimentary, it's the best value around. It's about time that everyone in Chicago knows," he said.

How can Maxwell's offer such a deal? East Bank Club members demand the best. They are fortunate to have a huge fan base which affords them the luxury of offering fabulous food at reasonable prices.

The menu includes an extensive omelet bar alongside a rotating menu of seasonal entrées, salads and sides. Chefs Mike Lodes and Rick Hall, regulars at Green City Market, believe in using seasonal, sustainable ingredients when possible.

Families and friends will enjoy Maxwell's create your own Omelet Bar; Eggs Benedict;  French Toast; Sour Cream Pancakes; Waffles; Toasted Bagels with sides of cream cheese, chive cream cheese, sliced tomatoes, red onions, and lox; herb-roasted and poached Salmon; chilled Shrimp, House-made Pork Sausage, Turkey Sausage, and Organic Chicken and Herb Sausage; Applewood-Smoked Bacon; Breakfast Potatoes; Seasonal Fresh Fruit; Granola and Yogurt; and Mini Breakfast Pastries as well as seasonal entrée specials, seasonal vegetable, potato or pasta, and seasonal salads.

Maxwell's also is available for large group dining and private parties. The adjacent bar features live music nightly and is comfortable for single dining.

Kingsbury St. (telephone: 312-527-5800, ext. 301), will present its elegant annual Mother's Day Brunch on Sunday, May 11 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The extensive buffet, which is open to the public, will feature prime rib and roast turkey carving stations, an omelet bar, a waffle bar, assorted pastries and seasonal berries, as well as a variety of appetizers, salads and entrées.
