Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar kicks off summer with a Memorable Meal that recalls the spirit of a picnic on the rocky shores of the New England coast. Through August 15, guests can enjoy a Maine Lobster & Seafood Boil for two for $99 at two Chicago area

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse Memorable Meals bring back favorite dining experiences – the ones that capture the place, the time, the flavors and the people you share them with. The Memorable Meals have been implemented locally by Chef Partner Jerl Griffin at Chicago and Chef Partner Roger Abuan at Lincolnshire. Chef Skall’s inspiration for this summer tradition starts with fresh Maine lobster.
"One of my favorite ways to enjoy Maine Lobster is in a traditional New England Seafood Boil," says Chef Skall. "It’s a simple yet stylish way to prepare the summertime ocean harvest. I find a large pot and fill it with market-fresh seafood, add fresh vegetables and seasonings, then boil it. If I were cooking on the beach or at home, we would serve it in the traditional manner — the contents simply spread out on a newspaper in the middle of a table for all to share."
For
Fleming’s Maine Lobster & Seafood Boil, Chef Skall also adds Manila clams, mussels and shrimp, along with fresh corn on the cob, new potatoes and andouille sausage, all cooked in a delicious stock. This dish is served in a bowl with freshly baked buttermilk drop biscuits and a coleslaw salad with fresh tomatoes and sliced mozzarella tossed with apple cider vinaigrette. The meal concludes with another summer favorite – a fruit cobbler of fresh peaches and dried cranberries for dessert.

Today (Friday, Jan. 21), Restaurant Michael (64 Green Bay Rd., Winnetka, Ill.; (847) 441-3100) features Whole Maine Lobsters! For $29 per person, the lobsters weigh 1.25 pounds each and are served butter poached on a bed of sautéed baby spinach leaves and creamy polenta, dressed with either hazelnut scented lobster bisque or candied lemon, capers and brown-butter.
