NEWEST VENDOR
Superior Nut and Candy
Chicago French Market introduces its newest vendor Superior Nut and Candy, joining the market in September 2011.
The Superior Nut and Candy success story started in Chicago in 1982 by the Mastrangelo family when they opened their first retail store selling nuts, chocolates and candies to local neighborhood customers. Quickly earning a reputation for serving fresh roasted snack nuts, confections and candies, the company grew into a chain of stores throughout the Chicago land area. Since this beginning, Superior Nut and Candy have transformed itself into a consumer snack company specializing in nuts, chocolates and candies. The Superior brand can be found in many stores throughout the country.
Through the years, Superior has maintained its focus on delivering freshly roasted nuts, chocolate and yogurt products, and popular candies that will be available to you in bulk. In addition to our broad manufacturing capabilities we roast nuts, coat our own chocolates and yogurts, on the south side Chicago and source candy from the best suppliers in the country. This ensures that you will have the freshest products. Stop by and check out their enormous assortments!

Join The Chicago French Market and Executive Chef Colin Beaumier of Bistro Voltaire for our free Dine Around the Market Series, noon-1 p.m. Tuesday, September 20! Two dishes will be created and demonstrated by Chef Beaumier, using ingredients from The Chicago French Market, followed by sampling of the chef’s creations. It’s the perfect opportunity to ask one of Chicago best-known chefs your culinary questions!
After attending college at Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI, Colin's real journey began. Working in a busy restaurant across from the Pabst Theatre in Milwaukee, the seed was planted after working with a great chef-mentor from the Culinary Institute of America. After a suggestion and a game plan, Colin attended the CIA graduating in 2001 with amazing experiences, culminating in winning a spot at the Aspen Food and Wine Festival getting to work with cooking legend Jacques Pepin who had an amazing effect on his philosophy of cooking and life. He honed his craft and developed his repertoire at Coquette Cafe and Sanford restaurants under the tutelage of Chef Sandy D'Amato and his wife Angie. After four years, Colin set out to prove himself in kitchens in Minneapolis, Traverse City Michigan; accumulating these experiences with a great run at Whitehall Hotel in Chicago. Colin returned from Wisconsin after opening Kickshaw restaurant in 2009 to take the helm at Bistro Voltaire returning to the great French classics. Bistro Voltaire is wonderful place to experience the timelessness of traditional French cuisine!
