Ah, foie gras

It took place two years ago, and will be remembered as one of the strangest decisions in Chicago history. Maybe the most bizarre decision. Or silly. No, I’m not talking about the infamous “spaceship” addition to Soldier Field. I’m talking about the ban on serving foie gras in Chicago’s restaurants, which Chicago’s city council repealed on Wednesday by a vote of 37 to 6. Local chefs and the National Restaurant Association rejoiced at the lifting of the odd ordinance, with some restaurants eagerly adding the delicacy to their menus as soon as this weekend.
