Chef/owner Michael Lachowicz welcomes the experienced Tarver as Matîre d’
Michael Lachowicz, chef/owner of the five-year-old Restaurant Michael, announces the addition of Dan Tarver to his already stellar service team as the restaurant’s Maître d’.
“Dan is one of the last true Maître d’s to be found,” says a thrilled Lachowicz. “He is the perfect match for the restaurant, and is instantly and blissfully recognized by the majority of my guests who have come to know him through his decades in the industry.”
Tarver and Lachowicz have actually known each other for more than two decades, having first met at Café Provencal, where they worked under the direction of the well-known Leslie Reis. Tarver has three decades of experience in the hospitality industry, spending 17 years at Café Provencal with long runs at Mimosa in Highland Park, Ill., Gabriel’s in Highwood, Ill., Bistro Campagne in Lincoln Square, among other highly esteemed restaurants in the Chicago area.
Tarver’s long history of managing wine lists and dining room staff at so many prestigious restaurants in the Chicago area, make him a perfect fit for Restaurant Michael, and he takes pride in his work.
“Warmth and conviviality come naturally to me,” says Tarver. “Because of my love for the duties and responsibilities of the position, I have never really worked a day in my life. Leading an established team like the one here at Restaurant Michael, is both a pleasure and an honor.”
Lachowicz is overjoyed with the addition of Tarver as Maître d’ to his exceptional team at Restaurant Michael.
