Bello Tea celebrates tea traditions this January at Chicago French Market

The National Tea Association has dedicated the month of January as National Hot Tea month and Bello tea is ready to celebrate!  January is the perfect time to try something news. Bello Tea is offering a complimentary tea tasting 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. every Wednesday and 10 a.m. to noon on Saturdays. 

Hands-on Matcha Green Tea Experience - Great Mid-Day Energy Pickup.  

The BelloTea Matcha Shotselaborate and refined Japanese tea ceremony is meant to demonstrate respect through grace and good etiquette. Experience an abbreviated authentic tea ceremony at Bello Tea to learn and expand your knowledge of Matcha.  The Japanese tea ceremony, also called the Way of Tea, is a Japanese cultural activity involving the ceremonial preparation and presentation of matcha, powdered green tea. In Japanese, it is called chanoyu or sadō, chadō. The manner in which it is performed, or the art of its performance, is called otemae .  This interactive demonstration and tasting gets you involved. Bello Tea explains how to prepare Matcha and you'll do it yourself. Matcha classes are $6 per person and available 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Bello Teat at the Chicago French Market has seating for three people at a time. Reservations are recommended.

Bello Tea Hosts Tea Basic 101 Class October 16

Did you always want to learn about teas? Now's your chance. In Bello Tea's "Tea Bello Tea LeafBasics 101," students will learn about different types of teas, herbals, tisane, and other botanical drinks; how different teas are processed and what are their health benefits? You'll learn the proper method for brewing hot and iced teas. Learn how to observe the appearance of tea leaves prior to and after brewing and taste the flavor and smell the aroma of these authentic drinks. Students will learn how to adjust the tea brewing to their personal taste. The class takes place at the Chicago French Market, 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., On October 16. Month-Long Specials and New Chicago French Market Offerings

Bello Tea has added several new fall drinks to its menu including the Gingerbread Tea Latte, the Pumpkin Spice Tea Latte, and the Pumpkin Spice Bubble Tea. Bello's fall offerings will be having you come back frequently throughout October. "The Gingerbread Tea Latte is amazingly delicious, says owner Tammy Reddy. "And what could be better than pumpkin pie flavor in a warm cozy drink? The Pumpkin Spice Tea Latte with its seasonal blend of pumpkin pie spices and other natural flavors is a yummy fall drink addition to our menu."
 
City Fresh Chevap Sandwich ETCity Fresh Market has added two new items to its Tuesday lunch menu. The Chevap Sandwich includes house-made grilled Pork and Lamb Sausages, Roasted Red Pepper Relish, Butter and Parmesan Spread on homemade Pita Bread, and the Serbian Burger (Pljeskavica), made from the same meats as the Chevap but in patty form with the same toppings and pita. Both are only $5.99 and available on Tuesdays only.

Wisma chef/owner John des Rosier has expanded his jarred and canned product line.  Wisma is now selling 16 oz. jars of specially made Mayonnaise ($6) and Parmesan Aioli ($6) at the Chicago French Market. Ten ounce jars of Garlic Mustard and a Beer Mustard are available for $5 each. Chef des Rosier also has introduced a selection of rubs for meats and fish, $6.95 per jar.

Chicago French Market Harvest - Thursday, October 10 to Saturday, October 12


Chicago French Market will be celebrating the fall with its three-day Market Harvest, Thursday, Oct. 10 through Saturday, October 12. Vendors will be offering specials, samplings and showcasing new products.

During the Market Harvest, Delightful Pastries will be sampling a variety of its brownies.  Also, on October 11, Delightful will be celebrating World Egg Day. For only $1 extra, diners can add egg and cheese to their popular Three Piggly Wigglys Brownie Platter 4 ETsandwich ($10) with Polish ham, lean crispy bacon, pan-fried-pork-cutlet, and pickles served on an "everything" bun.

Bello Tea Celebrates National Nutrition Month


Bello Tea at the Chicago French Market will mark National Nutrition Month this March by promoting its matcha tea. Matcha is a Japanese green tea which has been part of the culture for more than 800 years. Its soothing velvety taste makes it a great drink for every day. Two Valentine’s Day Drink Recipes from Bello Tea at the Chicago French Market


Spending Valentine’s Day at home or going to a potluck party? Bello Tea at the Chicago French Market (131 N. Clinton St., Chicago; 312-380-0707), has offered up delicious recipes for two tasty Valentine’s Day drinks. The Bello Mojito is made with delicious hibiscus spearmint tea, freshly squeezed lime juice, sparkling water and finished with a touch of sweetness. For an adult only beverage, try your hand at making Lara’s Caipirinha Bubbly ‘’Champagne.’’ This easily prepared drink combines Bello Organic Lara’s Caipirinha Herbal Tea with sparkling juice or champagne with a fresh strawberry. Look below for step by step instructions on how to prepare both of these drinks.

Bello Mojito
Serves 2
Ingredients:
§  8 oz. of Bello Hibiscus Spearmint Tea  
§  1 oz. of Fresh squeezed lime juice
§  2 oz. of Simple Syrup ( ½  water, ½ sugar)
§  1 oz. of Sparkling Water
§  Fresh mint
§  Slices of lime

Preparation:
Brew Hibiscus Spearmint Tea and chill it until ready to prepare. In a martini shaker, muddle mint and lime slices together. Add simple syrup, lime juice and tea. To that add ice and shake well. Strain it into a martini glass and add sparkling water. Garnish with a mint sprig and a slice of lime. For a fun twist add your favorite rum. Substitute sugar with agave, if preferred.

Brewing Hibiscus Spearmint Tea
Add 2 tsp. of Hibiscus Spearmint tea to a tea pot then add 8 oz. of boiling water. Let it brew for 5 minutes. Strain and chill.
 

Lara’s Caipirinha Bubbly ‘Champagne’

Ingredients:
§  1-2 oz. of Bello Organic Lara’s Caipirinha Herbal Tea
§  6 oz. of Sparkling Juice or Champagne
§  A fresh raspberry or strawberry

Preparation:
Pour Sparkling Juice or Champagne into a glass. Add Lara’s Caipirinha tea and garnish with fresh raspberry or strawberry.

Bello Tea Offers Toast to a Healthier 2013 Tea Demos


Bello Tea at the Chicago French Market is introducing its first round of complimentary tea samplings and demos called “Toast to a Healthier 2013.” Owner Tammy Reddy is dedicated to educating the masses about the health benefits of tea and the different varieties to suit individual taste preferences. The demo series will take place on three days during the month of January, each with three timeslots available (see below for times). Class size is limited, to sign up visit the Bello Tea booth at the Chicago French Market or at bellotea.com. All participants will receive 10% off all Matcha and accessories after each session. 

January 12 and 26
Session 1 – 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Session 2 – 1:45 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. Session 3 – 2:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

New Chicago French Market Vendor, Bello Tea

The Chicago French Market is pleased to welcome its newest vendor, Bello Tea . Bello Tea offers 90 different types of teas and herbals. In addition to loose leaf teas, Bello Tea offers hot and ice teas, bubble teas, Matcha Green Teas and Limeades. In response to the growing interest, Bello Tea also provides Tea Tasting and Tea Education classes for its patrons, as well as a wide range of tea accessories for purchase.

Sporting the motto, "Life is Good, Enjoy Your Tea…™", it is no wonder that many consider Bello Tea their one stop shop for all things tea related. Bello Tea's mission has been to serve, help and educate their customers in discovering the beautiful world of tea. Find Bello Tea at the Chicago French Market this November.
