Satisfy that stomach with Glen Prairie’s weekend specials


Hungry for local flavor? Try new dishes after 5 p.m. Friday, June 4 and Saturday, June 5 with weekend dinner specials created by Executive Chef Daniel Ovanin at Glen Prairie (1250 Roosevelt Rd., Glen Ellyn; 630-613-1250). These specials are offered in addition to the regular menu.

As an appetizer, try House Smoked Salmon Crostini with chive crème fraiche, pickled red onion, cucumbers, radish, baby greens and grilled sourdough ($8). Taste the Grilled Iowa Farmed Shirt Steak with pan roasted fingerling potatoes, grilled radicchio and bread crumb salsa ($22).

Glen Prairie serves contemporary American cuisine, with a strong emphasis on local Midwest flavors and products. Breakfast is served 6 a.m. – 11 a.m. Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. - 11 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. Lunch is offered 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. daily. Dinner is served 5 p.m. - 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 5 p.m. – 11 p.m. Friday through Saturday. The lounge stays open one hour later than the restaurant daily.
