Founded by musician Fernando Barba, Barbatuques creates a visual and aural spectacle by combining Afro-Brazilian chants, stomping, shuffling, body drumming, and other vocal and movement techniques.
And if that isn’t enough, this dynamic group will be joined by Emmy award winner and Broadway star, Jason Samuels Smith, as well as the Chicago Human Rhythm Project's resident tap ensemble BAM! BAM! will premiere pieces choreographed by Ted Levy, sand dancer Guillem Alonso, and Barabatuques' Bruno Buarque.
