Wisma at the Chicago French Market provides the perfect solution for those 2-3 times a week when you don't have time to prep and cook meals, but can't afford or don't have time to go out to eat. 

Everything Wisma cooks is made from scratch.  They make all of their own sauces, dressings, salads, pastas, sandwiches, entrees, and even desserts and ice cream. They use honest, natural ingredients, with nothing artificial, processed, or covered in corn syrup.  All ingredients can be pronounced by a 6 year old.  They also do not use any preservatives and nothing is ever frozen (except for the ice cream).

Wisma has introduced several new seasonal menu items at the Chicago French Market


With the change in the season, Wisma has introduced several new seasonal menu items: an Indian Style Curry ($10) with jasmine rice, coconut, tomato, radish, green pepper, broccoli, scallion, onion and herbs and spices, and a new Linguini with Gulf Shrimp dish ($9) with linguini noodles, white shrimp cauliflower, zucchini, parmesan cheese, onion, garlic, herbs and spices. Chef John Des Rosier and his team will be creating a special weekly soup. This soup will be surprise, made from whatever are the freshest, savory ingredients, and will never be repeated.

Wisma is now featuring Chef and Owner John des Rosier’s homemade jarred items perfect for your kitchen, barbeques and picnics $5 to $7. 

Strawberry Rhubarb Preserves, Strawberry Preserves and Raspberry Preserves are now available for purchase. His San Marzano Tomato Sauce and Tomato Vodka Sauce also are available.  



Want to add big flavor to your sandwiches and grill this season? Chef des Rosier has you covered with Louisiana Barbeque Sauce and Spicy Giardiniera, sure crowd pleasers for any back yard barbecue. Don’t forget the Spicy Beer Mustard, delicious with pretzels or on your brats.

Wisma Adds to Its Chicago French Market Menu


Wisma is introducing new dishes to its spring/summer menu.  Market shoppers will enjoy perfectly portioned dishes for grab and go.

Newly featured items include: Stuffed Peppers with jasmine rice, green pepper, red pepper, broccoli, cauliflower, hazelnuts, onion, garlic, olive oil, fresh herbs and spices, $10; Cous Cous & Garbanzo Beans with cous cous, garbanzo beans, red peppers, broccoli, goat cheese, onion, olive oil, basil and a blend of Moroccan spices, $11; Orange Teriyaki Chicken with jasmine rice, chicken, green peppers, scallions, onions, peanuts and orange teriyaki sauce, $12; San Marzano Tomato Soup with Italian tomatoes, olive oil, red wine, garlic, onion, fresh herbs and spices, $6 and Asian Salad with organic mixed greens, almonds, mandarin oranges red peppers and crispy wontons (your choice of dressing), $9.

Wisma has also changed it packaging and is “thrilled” to announce that it is using a new sustainable container for all of its foods.   All entrees will come in a new 100% recycled aluminum containers and are microwave-safe, freezer-safe, eco-friendly and made locally in Wheeling, IL.  Only certified 100% aluminum is safe for microwave and oven use.

With March comes March Madness and you don’t want to watch the games on an empty stomach. Wisma Offers January Savings and New Menu Items at the Chicago French Market

It’s widely known that Wisma is the perfect place to pop in during lunchtime to pick up a pre-made gourmet meal. During the month of January, Wisma at the Chicago French Market is extending savings to its loyal customers by offering 25% off all Wisma brand items every day and 50% off sandwiches on Tuesday and Thursday. These promotions are available from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. with the sandwich offer running all day on Saturday. Some new and tasty menu items to try with this promotion are: Vegetable Lasagna ($11), Shells Carbonara ($9), and the Spicy BLT Sandwich ($9).

Delightful Pastries

Delightful Pastries has relocated within the Chicago French Market to the center aisle next to Kotel Kosher.  To celebrate the move, new offerings have been added to the menu.

The new savory offering will feature Volcanoes, buns stuffed with scalloped potatoes, pancetta, and caramelized onions topped with gruyere. A new dessert bar is now available as well: chocolate raspberry jam, made from scratch, on top of a cookie topped with nuts and cinnamon streusel. Also available is a new gluten free offering, chocolate pebble cookies and chocolate bark, and two new tortes; passion fruit and chocolate mousse torte

Pastoral Artisan Cheese, Bread & Wine

Pastoral is celebrating Bastille Day at Chicago French Market with a free wine and cheese tasting.  Try some of the nation’s most delicious French wine and cheese selections and other accompaniments on the French National Holiday. 

Don’t forget to share all those amazing artisan foods that you tasted during the 2nd Annual Pastoral Artisan Producer Fest. To keep the memory alive, every month Pastoral will sell items from vendors introduced at the Producer Festival.  It’s the perfect opportunity to introduce these artisan foods to your friends and family. 

Ames Honey from the Ames Farm in Watertown, MN will be offering raw honey in single-varietal flavors. Quince and Apple Preserves from Madison, WI is selling some of its inventive and seasonal spreads that showcase the outstanding flavor of the fresh, largely local ingredients that go into its preserves.

Valentine Vodka in Detroit, MI crafts vodka like no other.  Founder and Master Distiller, Rifino Valentine spent four years experimenting with distilling techniques before becoming one of the first distilleries in the world to use a multi-grain recipe.  Featured at Pastoral this month will be a proprietary blend that features locally grown Red Michigan wheat, barley and corn.

Saigon Sisters is always here to bring you the latest and most unique products in the market. Check out some new products that will give you a little boost next time you stop in.

Spindrift Sodas are now available and are truly refreshing. Made with sparkling water, fresh squeezed juice and fruit purees, they pair perfectly with the delicious Spring Rolls, Banh Mis, and Rice bowls. Try the Half and Half brewed tea and lemonade. Delicious!

Specials and Features at Chicago French Market

The month of March at Chicago French Market is sure to please with new menu items, new vendor openings, St. Patrick’s Day and Easter features and events, and national recognition of the “very best” pastrami in all of the Illinois!
Klay Oven Kitchen will be opening in early March as the 26th vendor at the Chicago French Market. The 170 sq. foot space will offer more than 25 varieties of fresh Indian spices from cumin, fennel, turmeric and cardamom to black salt, star anise and mustard seeds. Also, it will feature on-the-go meals for breakfast and lunch creations from Executive Chef Hiran Patel of Klay Oven. 

Klay Oven Kitchen hours will be 7:30 a.m. To 7 p.m. Monday-Friday and 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday. Beginning Saturday, March 3, and every Saturday thereafter, Chef Hiran Patel will hold morning cooking classes at Klay Oven Kitchen to teach guests about Indian spices and how to incorporate in home cooking.

Delightful Pastries
Delightful Pastries will be adding two new bars to their menu!  Raspberry Chocolate Jam Bars and Cayenne Brownies will be available starting in March. In addition, a special Easter menu will be featured. Choose from a selection of sweet items including Lamb Cakes with buttercream or dusted with powder sugar, Bunny Rabbits, Cupcake baskets, Mocha Chocolate Bundt Cake, Rum and Raisin Yeast Babka, Italian Ricotta Cheesecake and several pie options including Rhubarb Strawberry. Or, choose from a menu of savory items including Lamb & Spinach Pie, Mushroom, Onion, Leek and Swiss cheese Quiche, Asparagus, Ham & Swiss Cheese Quiche and Salmon en Croute. All orders must be placed by April 2.

FLiP Crepes
FLiP Crepes has added to their menu and now feature a new selection of beverage and breakfast items including locally roasted coffee, chocolate shots, teas and tisanes as well as oatmeal, muesli and Kefir smoothies.  The perfect way to start the day!


Fumare Meats & Deli
Lights, camera, action!  Fumare Meats & Deli will be featured on the Food Network’s “Sandwich King” 10 am March 4.  Also, say tuned for ABC News Channel 7 “The Hungry Hound”, airing 10 pm March 9, featuring the “very best” pastrami in all of Illinois! 

St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, Fumare will be serving up a special dinner plate featuring corn beef, cabbage and boiled potatoes for $8.99/plate. 


Pastoral Artisan Cheese Bread and Wine
Pastoral will be featuring two unique cheeses from County Cork, Ireland in honor of St. Patrick’s Day.  Ardrahan Cow’s Milk and Coolea Cow’s Milk cheeses will be offered during the month of March.

Chicago French Market’s Raw is adding a Takeaway Program, a weekly menu designed for people on the go! The program will provide a selection of meal options to take you through your work week and beyond.  The introductory price of $130 allows you a selection of 5 breakfast and snack items, 6 entrees, 2 salads, 6 savories/spreads and 2 desserts.  All items are guaranteed to last minimum of 5 days. Place your order each week by Monday before 7:30 pm and pick-up the next afternoon.   No need to take to your kitchen after a long day.  These healthy meals are packed and ready to go!

Wisma
Wisma will be celebrating March Madness by featuring their homemade dips, schmears, crackers and chips. Also on the menu, their delicious barbeque pork!  Choose from Spinach and Mushroom Dip or Goat Cheese and Pesto Schmear for $5 or Spicy Pasilla de Oaxaia Chile Schmear for $6. Pair them with one of their many varieties of chips and crackers.Or, take home some of their slow-cooked Organic Becker Lane Barbeque Pork for $12, it goes great with Louisiana backwoods sauce!
