Weekly Specials at Restaurant Michael: July 30-31

This week's special at Restaurant Michael comes with a twist. There will be TWO specials running on TWO different days.

On Friday, July 30, Restaurant Michael features a gorgeous dish that Chef Michael Lachowicz is quite certain cannot be found anywhere else in the Midwest: Filet of Beef Tenderloin "En Croute" in the style of Paul Bocuse. This is a dish Chef Lachowicz learned to create at Maxime's Restaurant Francais in Westchester, New York. Maxime Riberra prepared this dish for the Bocuse D'Or, a prestigious event held each year to honor Master Chef Paul Bocuse. A signed photo of Mr. Bocuse hangs in Michael's kitchen watching over the Restaurant Michael team for inspiration.

The dish is a whole roast tenderloin of beef wrapped in veal and truffle mousse and then in a puff pastry and baked. This lovely creation is sliced and served medium rare over Port wine and truffle sauce. Chef Lachowicz promises that diners "will be stunned by this dish!" What's better is the dish is only $29 a la carte, and will be part of the prix fixe menu.

Saturday, July 31, Restaurant Michael features a classic favorite: Whole Roast Dover Sole with a choice of sauce, wild rice pilaf and seasonal vegetables. This dish is also available on the prix fixe menu, or a la carte for $29. These fish WILL go fast on Saturday, so please call early to reserve yours in advance.
